Thu May 16 — Sat May 18, 2024

Orchestra Hall

2 hours 45 minutes including intermission

The Resistance is in desperate need of help when they find themselves impossibly pursued by the First Order. While Rey travels to a remote planet called Ahch-To to recruit Luke Skywalker to the Resistance, Finn and Rose, a mechanic, go on their own mission in the hopes of helping the Resistance finally escape the First Order. But everyone finds themselves on the salt-planet of Crait for a last stand. Don’t miss this big-screen battle with score performed live by the Minnesota Orchestra.

Things to know

  • Composer John Williams holds the record for most Oscar nominations (53) of any living person, including one for The Last Jedi's score.
  • The Last Jedi features a posthumous performance by the late Carrie Fisher, who passed away a year before its release.
  • CGI just won't cut it: Amid a sea of impressive CGI effects, Yoda returned to the film as an actual puppet. The puppeteer controlling and voicing Yoda in The Last Jedi is none other than Frank Oz, who presented Yoda in his original appearance in 1980's The Empire Strikes Back.
