Black Panther

with the Minnesota Orchestra

Fri Nov 5 — Sat Nov 6, 2021

Orchestra Hall

~2.5 hrs including a 20 min intermission

In 2018, Marvel Studios’ Black Panther quickly became a global sensation and cultural phenomenon, showing a new dimension of what Super Hero films could be. Rolling Stone raved, “The film lights up the screen with a full-throttle blast of action and fun. That’s to be expected. But what sneaks up and floors you is the film’s racial conscience and profound, astonishing beauty.” Now you can relive the excitement of T’Challa becoming king and battling Killmonger all while the Minnesota Orchestra performs Ludwig Göransson’s Oscar®-winning score live to picture.

A Few Things to Know

  • Black Panther was the first Super Hero movie to be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards®.
  • Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson's score won the Oscar for Best Original Score. Göransson is also an accomplished producer, working with artists like Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper and Haim.
  • In addition to the film’s gripping musical score, hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar released a Grammy-nominated soundtrack of original music from and inspired by the film titled Black Panther: The Album.
