At a Glance

The Minnesota Orchestra’s brass section welcomes the new year with three short pieces by Renaissance composer Giovanni Gabrieli, and a woodwind ensemble pairs together the works of 20th-century contemporaries. Music Director Osmo Vänskä conducts music by two peers from the late 1700s: Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto, featuring Principal Bassoon Fei Xie in his Minnesota Orchestra solo debut, and a dazzling symphony by Joseph Bologne, the Chevalier de Saint-Georges.
