Important Concert Update

This Friday’s Minnesota Orchestra concert (“Rhythm and Grace,” October 23, 8 pm) will only be presented as a radio broadcast on Classical Minnesota Public Radio this week. The video livestream and TPT television broadcast slated for the same time are being cancelled, due to a possible COVID-19 exposure among the Orchestra’s production staff.

We are grateful to have learned of the potential exposure—through our safety protocols—yesterday. Only a small number of production staff members have been potentially exposed, but these individuals are essential for producing the livestream and TV broadcast. In order to proceed with extreme caution, we are halting production as the team members—none of whom are currently experiencing symptoms—quarantine at home, according to our established safety procedures.

No musicians or MPR personnel have been impacted, and we are pleased that the performance can proceed as a radio broadcast. We look forward to connecting with video livestream and TV audiences again on our next scheduled concert date, which is Friday, November 6. For this Friday’s radio broadcast, listeners are invited to tune in to Classical MPR, 99.5 FM, in the Twin Cities or stream the radio broadcast online at classicalmpr.org.
