Individual Giving Manager

 

The Minnesota Orchestra is one of the largest performing arts organizations in the state and one of America’s top symphonic ensembles. We are currently searching for an Individual Giving Manager to join our Development Team. This role is responsible for the development and execution of an annual, multi-channel fundraising strategy to attract, retain and grow individual donors giving up to the $1,000 level. Working collaboratively, the Individual Giving Manager will be an active member of the Individual Giving Team, supporting the major and planned giving efforts of the team as needed, and assisting with fundraising and stewardship events. A few key accountabilities and qualifications include:

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward Community Level Donors (donors giving up to $1,000) to meet or exceed an annual fundraising goal of $750,000
  • Concept, write and produce compelling, donor-centric direct mail and email appeals; stewardship materials including newsletter, invitations and brochures; and social media content as related to fundraising and donor stewardship
  • Manage the communication strategy for prospects and donors
  • Collaborate with the Marketing staff to design and implement a streamlined digital communications strategy within a CRM driven model, incorporating key development strategies and messages as needed
  • Regularly track and report on fundraising results and metrics utilizing database reports and other analytical tools.
  • Manage the community giving expense budget
  • Attend performances, donor receptions, or other Orchestra events when necessary (typically 2-5 evenings per month)

You'll be a great fit if you have:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or the equivalent amount of training and hands on experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position
  •  5 years of career experience with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in annual fund fundraising, preferably with individual donors
  •  Excellent written communication skills that demonstrated experience writing strong, donor-centric direct mail and email content
  •  Demonstrated experience using MS Suite, specifically, Excel and Word
  •  Demonstrated experience using fundraising databases, preferably Tessitura
  •  Demonstrated ability to think strategically yet provide tactical execution of fundraising campaigns
  •  Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to initiate direct communication with donors, prospects, volunteers, colleagues, musicians, and vendors
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with all levels of management, musicians, and staff
  •  Self-motivated with the ability work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  •  Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
  •  Ability to attend performances, donor receptions, or other Orchestra, Board, or community related events when necessary
